Women have 35 billion fat cells in our bodies and they are 5 times as large as men's. You right, fat storage all depends on the hormones. The location of fat storage for women in the hips, thighs, and butt area is only temporary until we reach the age of about 50. The reason they are stored there in the first place is to produce any pregnancy we might have during times of famine (yes, even self induced ones). After that, the fat re-distribute themselves are we start to store them in the abs like the men.

Male and female fat distribution are partly controlled by hormones and also genetic.

Cellulite is genetic, so is varicose veins, and stretch marks!

BMI is by far the most inaccurate measure of a person's physical well being/weight to height ratio. It doesn't take into account the done density and also frame size.

While WHR does sort of reduce the margin of error by some extend, a more accurate way to determine the body composition is non other than a proper body fat analysis.

An overweight person might have low bodyfat, indicating he/she has higher muscle percentage.

A skinny person might have high bodyfat, and still look thin, but we all know it's a time bomb ticking.

chance upon your blog and your write ups, will visit often to read, very informative and loads to discuss and rant about!
