Salt is important for neuro-muscular functions.

Nothing taken in high doses would be benificial, take with moderation.

Potassium will balance the NaCl content in the body. That is why banana is the best energy food, providing enough calorie for someone to run 2km and balancing the natrium-potassium content in the body to prevent cramps and also dehydration.
